ONE-OF-A-KIND NEWFOUNDLAND PORTRAITS
Good portrait photography shouldn't feel like ninety minutes of being told where to put your hands.
I’ve photographed people professionally for more than twenty years, first through journalism and later through weddings and portrait work. That experience has taught me when a photograph needs direction and when something better is about to happen if I simply leave it alone.
I’ll help with location, light, positioning and the things that actually matter. But the objective is not to manufacture a version of you for the camera.
It is to make strong photographs that still feel like you.
Whether you live here or are visiting Newfoundland for a few days, the landscape can become part of the story rather than simply a backdrop.
PORTRAIT SESSIONS
THE CINEMATIC STORY - $750
For people who want to make the location as important as the portrait.
Rather than working to a strict time limit, we plan around the place, changing light and weather. That might mean exploring several locations, hiking somewhere more remote, working through sunset and dusk, or simply waiting twenty minutes because Newfoundland has decided to change the entire sky.
Aerial photography can also be incorporated when the location, regulations and weather permit.
This is the session for couples, families or individuals who want something larger in scale and distinctly Newfoundland.
THE DOCUMENTARY SESSION - $500
My most flexible portrait session.
Approximately 90 minutes to two hours gives us enough time to settle into the session rather than rushing from photograph to photograph.
We can move between a couple of nearby locations, incorporate an activity or wardrobe change, and create both directed portraits and the less predictable photographs that happen in between.
A strong choice for engagements, couples, families and anyone who wants more than a quick collection of portraits.
THE FOCUSED SESSION - $350
Approximately 45 minutes at one location.
Simple, efficient and intentional.
This works well when you already know what you need - graduation portraits, professional photographs with some personality, couples sessions, individual portraits or a small family session.
We concentrate on one location and make the most of it rather than spending the session travelling.
